These Heavy Duty Assist rigs from Mustad are designed with deep sea jigging in mind. As fish often strike the top end of the jig, the cord is looped into the connecting end to position the hook behind the head and belly area of the jig to improve hookset. This setup also results in less snags because of the absence of a traditional tail treble hook.
